Greetings You may have missed what I posted in Post 8. Safe Mode worked. I tried it Sunday, before turning to Bleeping Computer, and it did no good, but today it works. I don't recall from using Farbar in the past that there was the list of 6 whitelisted areas.
I left them checked, so if they need to be included let me know and I will uncheck them. I also clicked on Scan and not on Fix; I don't recall the procedure, as it has been a while since I used Farbar.

In general the built-in uninstallers of the listed programs seemed to function properly. While Revo did uninstall it Zone Alarm, it left something to remind me that I was now without a firewall. I added Superantispyware to the uninstall list, by analogy to programs that were on it.
